Colibri's engineering team was up against a tight deadline, and missing the in-house expertise required to build a very specific database analytics model.

To make things more difficult, they needed someone who not only had the necessary skills and experience, but someone who could seamlessly work hand in hand with the existing team.

Vijay Mandava, Head of Enterprise Architecture at Colibri worked directly with the Upwork Professional team. The job was posted on a Friday afternoon, and the Upwork team worked diligently over the weekend.

Monday morning, Vijay had a highly curated set of proposals, ready to be reviewed. An offer was extended the same day to an independent professional named Leonardo, and the work began that same week!

Colibri secured this talent in less than 3 days! This allowed projects to stay on track and on time.

Working with Leonardo provided an average of $15/hr cost savings.

Thanks to the success of this project, Vijay’s engineering team has tapped into Upwork’s network of skilled professionals for several other projects.

Colibri acquired Becker Accounting, whose Marketing team was working with a multitude of freelancers across a wide variety of projects.

Payment processes and terms were different for every single freelancer, which caused a heavy administrative burden and ultimately distracted the internal team from high-value work.

Janet Gomez, Marketing Manager at Colibri turned to Upwork for the ability to streamline payments with Talent Stores.

Now, the team at Colibri can easily onboard existing talent, hire new talent to support growth initiatives, and most importantly – pay each freelancer via their preferred method through one platform.

In less than 1 week, every freelancer was onboarded, and every contract was consolidated into one place.

The Colibri team now hires new talent in less than 3 days for all future needs.
