Capgemini Opens Annual Event With High-Impact Spoken Word Artist found on Upwork

The Problem

The Marketing team at Capgemini wanted to make a splash at the opening of its annual executive event.

In prior years, the event has opened with a video. However this year, Vito Labate, Vice President of Global Industry Marketing, wanted something more compelling.

He wanted an in-person performance by a spoken word artist who could convey Capgemini’s interests in sustainability and environmental concerns in a captivating and memorable way.

The challenge was - it would take specific expertise to be able to find and hire the right person for the job.

The Marketing team turned to Capgemini’s dedicated account team at Upwork! In a matter of days, the Upwork team put 14 proposals in front of Vito. From there, two demo reels stood out. those professionals were interviewed, and a hire was made.
