How Amazon is getting work done on Upwork

Crucial UX Studies Complete Thanks To 107 Freelance Developers

The Problem:

Amazon’s IT team was in need of DevOps and developers with experience in cloud platforms for a series of UX studies. With several key tasks relating to setting up servers and migrating APIs, it was imperative for the IT team to find the right talent for the studies.

The Solution:

Soon after setting the parameters of the studies, Amazon partnered with Upwork to source 100+ freelance developers. Over the course of the next two months, the freelancers engaged in multiple activities to measure their atypical skills not often seen in UX research platforms.

The Impact:

Amazon’s team collected enough data to complete three full studies - while also identifying opportunities for further research with the 107 freelancers. Thanks to Upwork’s Work Diary, Amazon was able to capture data never before possible on standard UX study platforms.
